The Initial Doula Consultation & Interview at NG Apothecary is a 60-minute session designed to support individuals or families as they explore pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care options — while also offering space to determine whether ongoing doula support feels like the right fit. This session may function as an initial consultation, an interview, or both, depending on the client’s needs and how services are covered. What This Session Is For This session provides space to: Learn about the role of a doula and available support options Discuss pregnancy, birth, or postpartum needs and preferences Ask questions in a calm, non-rushed environment Explore emotional, informational, and non-clinical support Determine mutual alignment before committing to ongoing care There is no obligation to move forward with services. What’s Included Each session includes: A 60-minute private consultation Education around: Prenatal, birth, and postpartum doula support Comfort measures and non-medical support strategies Advocacy, communication, and informed consent Time to explore values, preferences, and expectations Space for both client and doula to assess alignment Partners or support people are welcome to attend. Insurance & Payment Information NG Apothecary currently accepts many insurance plans for doula services. Coverage varies by provider and individual plan. Insurance eligibility and benefits will be verified prior to billing Coverage for consultations depends on individual plans and authorization No guarantee of coverage can be made prior to verification For clients not using insurance: The consultation fee may be applied toward the total cost of a full doula package if services are booked If services are not booked, the consultation may be treated as a standalone session Details are discussed transparently prior to booking.
