NG Apothecary — Return & Refund Policy
Overview
At NG Apothecary, we take pride in the quality and integrity of every product we offer. Because many of our products are handcrafted, botanical, perishable, or consumable in nature, we maintain a structured return policy to protect both our customers and the standards of our practice. By completing a purchase with NG Apothecary — whether in-store or online — you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this return and refund policy.
1. Return Request Window
All return and refund requests must be initiated within 30 calendar days of the original purchase date. The 30-day window begins on the date printed on your receipt or order confirmation. Requests submitted after 30 days from the date of purchase will not be considered, regardless of the reason.
2. How to Initiate a Return — Pre-Authorization Required
All returns require prior authorization before any product is brought back to our location or shipped back to us. A return is not valid unless it has been formally initiated through one of the following methods:

In person: Speak directly with an NG Apothecary staff member or manager at our Barrio Logan location during business hours.

By phone: Call us during business hours to speak with a staff member and request a return authorization.

By email: Submit your return request via our website or email address. Include your name, date of purchase, item(s) purchased, and reason for the return request.
Unauthorized returns will not be honored. Leaving a product at our counter, placing it in our space, or shipping it back to us without prior approval does not constitute a valid return. NG Apothecary will not issue refunds for products returned without a pre-authorization. Products left without authorization are not the responsibility of NG Apothecary and may be disposed of.
Claiming that a product was never received while simultaneously returning or abandoning the product at our location will be treated as an unauthorized return and will not be eligible for a refund.
3. Non-Returnable Items — Final Sale
The following items are considered final sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund under any circumstances:

Opened products: Any product whose packaging, seal, wrap, cap, or closure has been broken, removed, or tampered with is not eligible for return, regardless of how much of the product was used.

Consumable and perishable items: This includes, but is not limited to, loose herbs, herbal teas, tinctures, elixirs, tonics, herbal honeys, syrups, edible preparations, capsules, powders, dried plant material, and any product intended for internal use or consumption.

Personal care and topical products that have been opened: Oils, salves, balms, serums, creams, and similar products that have been opened cannot be returned for health and sanitary reasons.

Custom or specially ordered products: Items that were made to order, customized, or specially sourced for a customer are final sale.

Discounted and sale items: Any product purchased at a discounted rate, during a sale, or marked as final sale at the time of purchase is not eligible for return or refund.

Digital products and class registrations: Downloadable content, workshop registrations, and class fees are non-refundable once purchased, except at the sole discretion of NG Apothecary management.

Gift cards: Gift cards and store credit are non-refundable and non-transferable.
4. Conditions for Eligible Returns
For a return to be considered, all of the following conditions must be met without exception:

The return was requested within 30 calendar days of the original purchase date.

The return was pre-authorized by NG Apothecary staff before the product was returned.

The product is completely unopened, with all original seals, packaging, and labels intact.

The product shows no signs of use, tampering, damage, or alteration.

The customer provides valid proof of purchase — a receipt, order confirmation, or transaction record.

The product is not listed under Section 3 as a non-returnable item.
Failure to meet any single condition above disqualifies the return.
5. Refund Processing
Once a return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or denial of your refund. If approved, refunds will be issued to the original form of payment. Please allow standard bank or payment processor processing time, which may vary. NG Apothecary is not responsible for delays caused by your bank or financial institution.
NG Apothecary reserves the right to offer store credit in lieu of a monetary refund at the discretion of management.
6. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
If you received an item that arrived damaged, defective, or was incorrect, you must contact us within 7 calendar days of receipt. Please retain all original packaging and provide photographic documentation of the issue when reaching out. We will work with you to resolve the matter, which may include a replacement, store credit, or refund at our discretion. Damage claims submitted after 7 days of receipt may not be honored.
7. Exchanges
Exchanges are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are subject to product availability. All exchange requests must follow the same pre-authorization process outlined in Section 2 and meet all eligibility conditions in Section 4. Exchanges are not guaranteed and are issued at the sole discretion of NG Apothecary.
8. Abuse of Return Policy
NG Apothecary reserves the right to refuse returns from any customer who appears to be abusing this policy, including but not limited to: repeated return requests, returning products after use, misrepresenting the condition of items, or falsely claiming non-receipt of goods. We reserve the right to refuse service to any individual who engages in fraudulent or abusive return behavior.
9. Policy Modifications
NG Apothecary reserves the right to amend, update, or modify this return policy at any time without prior notice. The most current version of this policy governs all purchases and supersedes any previous versions.
